Lambeth Readers and Writers Festival 2008
The fifth Lambeth Readers and Writers Festival is a month-long programme of events during which Lambeth Libraries become the hub of a celebration of creativity in reading and writing.
The festival is a series of extraordinary events for all ages and tastes, from best-selling authors like Kate Mosse or Panos Karnezis to new authors such as Jacqueline Walker and Sean Longley. Whether you enjoy reading, writing, discussion or simply listening, they'll be something for you taking place in a library near you!
The Thames Bridges Bike Ride

Come and discover London from a whole new perspective. Our exhilarating Thames Bridges Bike Ride follows the river for 33 miles over 14 of London's famous bridges – this is city cycling at its best.
This amazing journey will take you through the historic city of London, along picturesque towpaths, through beautiful Richmond Park, and ends on a high note in Hurst Park near Hampton Court.
Challenge your friends, family or a group from workto join you, and celebrate your achievement together at the finale with music, food and games.
Fostering and adoption open day

If you are interested in fostering or adopting a Lambeth child make sure you don't miss our open day being held at Lambeth Town Hall. Running from 10am to 3.30pm, you can meet current foster carers and adoptive parents, talk to our dedicated recruitment team and get all the information you need to make that all important decision. There will be light refreshments and children's entertainment throughout the day.
Everyone is welcome, so come and join us to find out what fostering and adoption is really about.

The Mad Hatters Walk

The Mad Hatters Walk is a sponsored walk that follows the Thames Pathway from either the east or the west and finishes at London Bridge.
Pearly Kings and Queens greet walkers! The Mad Hatters Walk is also your chance to create a crazy hat and wear it during your walk. A prize for the best hat will also be awarded.
Get some fresh air and exercise, fantastic views of London, and make a difference to the lives of people affected by cancer.
Art and cultural events in Lambeth. Listings include dance, visual arts, theatre, film and music events, as well as arts events focussing on education, disability, youth or older people.
Lambeth libraries run events throughout the year in every library.
