Get involved
If you are a resident, local business or a community group now is a great time to get involved in your local community.
There are many different ways that you can get involved. You could join a local group like the the West Norwood feast, take part in or run a consultation, volunteer to become a green champion or a school governor, or set up a neighbourhood watch scheme in your area.
If you take part you can influence decisions and help to make a difference to your neighbourhood. So why not get involved today. Find out why residents are getting involved:
We are giving you more involvement and control of the services you use and the places where you live. Find out how you can take part, from becoming a member of the Lambeth Play Association to volunteering your time to a Time Bank.
Adopt a child
Adoption is a chance to give a child a brighter future. Our Fostering and Adoption team will give you advice and assistance when you need it. Find out more about the adoption process and if adoption is right for you.
Find out how you can raise issues and get involved in local decision making, from registering to vote, responding to a consultation, asking a public question, attending a public meeting to becoming a youth mayor or a councillor.
If you want to help to improve housing in your area you could join a residents' or tenants' association or become a recycling champion.
Become a Green Community Champion to help and inspire your neighbours about the environment or set up a Community Freshview to work with your community to make your area cleaner and greener.
You could join your local Safer Neighbourhood panel, report anti-social behaviour or help to decide how criminals should pay back to the community.
Volunteer in your local community
There is a wide choice of volunteering opportunities to suit your interests and time. Even if you don't live in Lambeth but work or study here you can still take part.
Youth courses and activities
Ways to get involved in youth activities outside of a school setting include the Education Business Partnership and delivering children's, youth and play services.
