Vandalism
Every tenant is responsible for stopping vandalism. Vandalism slows down normal repair work, and wastes time and materials. In the end, it costs everyone money.
Reporting vandalism
Report any vandalism to your caretaker, your housing office or the Police. If you know who is causing the vandalism we may ask you to make a formal complaint. We will also ask you to help us if we decide to take the matter to court.
Vandalism to your home
If your home is vandalised, you must report the matter to the police, we would then do any repairs that are needed. If your home is vandalised frequently we may house you somewhere else. Vandalism is against the tenancy conditions and damage through vandalism is a crime, we charge you for any vandalism you or a member of your household causes and the police may prosecute you for any crime committed. If this happens you could also lose your tenancy.
Graffiti
Graffiti is the most common type of vandalism. It annoys most tenants. Report any tenant or member of their household who vandalises our property with graffiti to your housing officer. Report any offensive graffiti (such as racist graffiti) to your caretaker or housing officer straight away. We will remove it within 24 hours.
