Strategy, Transformation and Technology - future plans and challenges

The aim of the Strategic Transformation programme is to deliver outcomes and products that support Lambeth’s journey to excellence and deliver high quality services to both external and internal customers. The division is responsible for developing, managing and delivering strategies, projects and programmes across the areas of:

  • Children and Young People
  • Healthier Communities and Older People
  • Safer and Stronger Communities
  • Economic Development and Enterprise
  • Active Communities and Neighbourhoods
  • Transforming and Supporting the Organisation

In parallel, the division is targeting over £4 million of cashable savings on behalf of the council and will be responsible for managing the £2.7 million replacement of all core council networks.

In the next few years the division will be facing the following challenges:

  • Expanding existing, established relationships and programmes of work to target and transform ongoing areas of council underperformance.
  • Engaging proactively with other local government and public sector partners, to extend the scope of activity into shared services and shared transformational delivery, maximising investment and returns.
  • Leading on the development of Lambeth’s strategic framework, integrated service-planning and transformational delivery council-wide, working in partnership with the Local Strategic Partnership and all service areas.
  • Improving Information Management and usage council and borough-wide, supporting core statutory responsibilities such as Every Child Matters.
  • Delivering and maintaining secure, robust and resilient IT Services for the council, improving infrastructure and managing increasing user demand, within or above current service standards.
  • Delivering core efficiency programmes, increasing service performance whilst simultaneously reducing service cost, with clearly defined savings targets against each project and programme for delivery.
