Right to Repair
Under the Right To Repair Regulations (1994) some repairs are known as qualifying repairs and must be done within the timescale set by the Government. If we do not do them within the timescale, you have the right to make us get another contractor to do the work.
Timescales for qualifying repairs
Timescales for qualifying repairs are set out in in our repair priority codes. When you report a qualifying repair, we will send you a letter which tells you the date you reported the repair and how long we have to do it. Keep the repair receipt safe. (Please note this does not apply to emergency repairs).
If the repair is not done within the set time
Contact the Lambeth Service Centre (LSC) on 020 7926 6000 and explain what work has not been done. You are entitled to ask for another contractor to carry out the work. If it is still not done, you may be able to claim compensation. To do this, please contact the LSC. If there is a good reason why the repair has not been done (for example, you did not keep an appointment to let the contractor in), we will not have to get another contractor or pay you compensation. If there is also a good reason why the contractor cannot carry out the work (for example, if they need to get special parts) they will be given extra time.
