Cars and Nuisance
Car repairs
Under the terms of your tenancy conditions you must not repair vehicles where it would cause a nuisance (for example, on estate roads or in garages and parking spaces). You must not park vehicles where they could block the way or cause a nuisance. For example, you must not:
- Rev the engine or use noisy machinery or tools.
- Release poisonous fumes from exhausts or from paint spraying.
- Leave spilt oil or car parts on estates, or in garages or parking spaces.
- Park where it blocks access by the emergency services.
- Park where it blocks people walking on pathways or getting to refuse chutes.
Dumped cars
Dumped cars can encourage vandalism, and be a danger to children who may try to play in them. If you think a car has been dumped tell your caretaker or housing officer as soon as possible. We will put a note on it saying that we will remove the car if it isn't claimed. We wheel clamp on our estates. We will only take the wheel clamp off after the owner has paid a fee.
Un-taxed Cars
We may report people who own cars which are not taxed to the Department of Transport even if the car is parked correctly. The Department of Transport will take legal action against the owner.
