Housing support service information
The supporting people programme funds housing support services in Lambeth. These services can help you with:
- Learning domestic, life or social skills in order to become more independent
- Assistance in applying for benefits, budgeting and managing debts
- Finding somewhere to live and setting up home
- Gaining access to other support or community services
- Finding out about work or training
- Dealing with other professionals, family and neighbours and advocating on your behalf
- Keeping an eye on your well-being
- Providing alarm systems to enable people to call for help in an emergency
Who can access these services?
These services are available to:
- Homeless people needing support
- People with mental health problems
- People with learning disabilities
- People with physical and/or sensory disabilities
- Older people needing support
- Young people at risk or who are leaving care
- Teenage parents
- Women fleeing domestic violence
- Refugees
- Ex-offenders
- People who misuse drugs or alcohol
- People living with HIV / AIDS
- Travellers

SNAP provide access to housing support services during office hours. Please refer to our SNAP leaflet for more information on how to access these services.
To access the services outside of office hours, please use the emergency out of hours support service.
Do I have to pay charges for housing support services?
Some long-term services (over two years) are chargeable, and you may have to pay for these services if you are not able to claim housing benefit. If there is a charge, you will be told about it when you apply for the service.
