Do I need planning permission?
Whether you need to apply for planning permission will depend on the scale and location of the proposed works or development, and the planning policies related to the application site.
Most houses will benefit from permitted development rights which mean that certain works can be carried out without the need for planning permission. Flats however do not have the same rights and most works that alter the appearance of a flat will require planning permission.
