• stability in the lives of children and young people, which enable them to fulfil their potential
• a commitment to training, learning and support for foster carers
• partnership which embraces children, young people, their parents and foster carers
• consideration for the gender, sexuality, disability, ethnicity and culture of foster children and young people
• respect for and advancement of the ethnic origin, cultural background, religion and language of the foster children and young people and their families
• work within the national and minimum standards and code of practice for foster carers to enhance the care provided to vulnerable children and the support of their carers.
