Refurbishment work at Brixton Recreation Centre to start 4 December 2006
A major programme of refurbishment work at Brixton Recreation Centre will mean that the Centre will be closed to the public from 4 December- 2 January 2007.
The work is the result of a large financial investment by Lambeth Council and Leisure Connection.
Works will include:
- renewing the tiles in male and female changing rooms.
- replacing old electrical wiring
- repairing the glass in the atrium.
During the closure Lambeth's other leisure centres will remain open and continue to operate as normal.
Although most of the works to Brixton Recreation Centre will be completed during the closure period, there may be further short disruptions to service between now and March 2007.
To minimise inconvenience for regular customers, Leisure Connection have suspended payments for December for those who pay on the Harpers direct payment plan. Those on fixed terms will have them extended by one month to cover the closure period.
Lambeth Council has worked closely with Leisure Connection to ensure that disruption will be kept to a minimum and apologises for any inconvenience caused.
