We're getting safer – Community Safety Inspection results out now

Community safety

The Audit Commission has given Lambeth two out of three possible stars for our community safety services, praising our "significant achievements in reducing crime" which are "among the best in London" as well as noting substantial improvements to the Youth Offending Service.

The borough has been awarded the second highest, two-star 'good' rating, in a score system that ranges from zero stars to three stars.

Although crime remains a key concern (the drugs market hasn’t shifted and first time 'entrants' to the criminal justice system are still increasing), fear of crime and actual crime have reduced, and the council is actively engaging with the community and focusing on priorities that reflect its concerns.
