Strike Impact 16 and 17 July

As part of a national strike, a number of staff are taking industrial action over pay on Wednesday 16 July and Thursday 17 July.

Lambeth Council is aiming to keep disruption to services to a minimum however some services are reduced.

Please note rubbish collection services are not affected and rubbish should be left at the curb side in the usual manner on regular collection days this week.

The most recent update is that the following services are affected:

Libraries

Five libraries are completely closed on 16 and 17 July (West Norwood, Streatham, Carnegie, Clapham and South Lambeth).

Durning Library is open until 1pm, closed 1-8pm (16 and 17 July).

Brixton Library will maintain its advertised opening hours.

Customer Services

This service is not currently operating at the usual capacity expected on a normal Wednesday. Customers are advised that non-urgent matters may receive shorter waiting times following the conclusion of the strike on 18 July.

Adults with Learning Disabilities

Care management has not been affected, however, Landmark Day Centre are running a skeleton service for service users whose carers could not make alternative arrangements.

Schools

A handful of schools are affected by the strike, either through partial or full closure. Students and parents will have received information from the school directly regarding the impact on the strike action.
