Play a part in developing West Norwood's masterplan
Residents, businesses and visitors to West Norwood are invited to have a say about how they would like to see the area regenerated. A number of proposals have been suggested and there is an opportunity now to play a part in choosing the best way forward. You can take part by visiting one of the upcoming roadshows, attending a consultation workshop or completing a questionnaire.
A 'masterplan' is being compiled covering improvements that can be made to shopping, entertainment, transport, business, housing, parks and open spaces. Feedback from community workshops held in April has already helped to shape proposals for guiding positive change in the area. Visitors to the next round of consultation events will play an important part in refining these proposals even further.
Councillor Lib Peck, Lambeth Council cabinet member for regeneration and environment comments: "The plans to transform West Norwood are well underway and the views and opinions of those living, working, studying, or visiting the area are central to any changes that will take place there.
"This is an exciting opportunity for local people to play an active part in shaping their environment, and I would urge everyone with a connection to the area to make sure their views are heard".
The first workshop takes place on Thursday July 17th at the Nettlefold Hall, in West Norwood Library from 7pm to 9.30pm. There will be another workshop on August 2nd, 2pm to 4.30pm also at Nettlefold Hall. The first roadshow takes place over the weekend on 19 and 20th July at the Lambeth Country Show in Brockwell Park, with another one at the Farmers’ market on Norwood Road, on Saturday 2 August between 10am and 12.30pm. West Norwood library will be the venue for an exhibition supporting the consultation on Monday July 14 through to Saturday August 30 (during normal working hours).
Everyone living in the West Norwood area will receive a newsletter which will outline the proposals and include a questionnaire to complete and return.
