Hate crime
Hate crime is any incident based upon prejudice or hatred towards an individual because of their actual or perceived race, disability, sexual orientation or faith.
To be a victim of hate crime you do not have to be a member of a minority group or someone who is considered to be 'vulnerable'. For example, the friend or friends of a visible minority ethnic person, lesbian or gay individual, a refugee or asylum seeker may be victimised because of their association.
You can report hate crime online by using our hate crime reporting eform. You can also report it by email, phone or post.
Hate crime strategy
Hate crime is a serious social issue that can have a significant impact on everyone involved. As a result of this, a strategy has been developed to address these issues. For an overview on how we intend to deal with hate crime see our Hate crime strategy 2007-10 summary, or for more information please see the full Lambeth hate crime strategy 2007-10.
