International Women's Day events

To celebrate International Women's Day, Lambeth is hosting a free event to support local women to make the changes they want to see.

We have a range of activities on offer including free therapies, demonstrations, children's corner, fashion and jewellery, sewing, employment, education and financial advice, dance and poetry and much, much more.

Motivational seminars
You can also attend one of three motivational seminars offering practical tips on:

  • 'How to reorder your life'
  • 'Feel the fear - do it anyway'
  • 'How to make your money matter'.

Station of the Skirt

Station of the SkirtJane Andrew's paintings present a slightly unsettling view of our world. Portraying a mutation of familiar surroundings usually remaining secret and hidden but the artist has them out of the bag and entrancing.

Lambeth Schools Music Festival 2010

The partnership between ourselves and the Southbank Centre has been developing over the last few years and the 2010 festival promises to be our best collaboration yet.

Concert schedule:

Junior instrumental concert 1 and opening showcase concert
This opening day is a chance for Lambeth's young people to show off their musical talent and repertoire of ensemble music, culminating in the evening's showcase. Festival continues from 16 to 18 March.

Secondary instrumental and singing concerts
Performances by young people from Lambeth secondary schools, following on from the event on Monday 15 March.

Time: 3pm Secondary instrumental concert, 7pm Secondary singing concert
Venue: Queen Elizabeth Hall

Junior instrumental concert 2
Performances by talented junior children in Lambeth schools. Follows on from the events on Monday and Tuesday.

Imnfant and junior singing concerts
The festival's final day is a celebration of singing with massed choirs drawn from Lambeth infant and junior schools singing a range of repertoire from Bernstein to The Beatles.

Paintings in Hospitals: Annual Spring Exhibition 2010

Paintings in HospitalsThe show will focus on the development of the charity's unique Children's Collection, which was created to provide engaging artworkds for children's healthcare sites.

Magic show for charity

Simon Rosselli of the world famous Magic Circle (and Amigo's Magic) is hoping to conjure up a bit of Lambeth Magic to help the refurbishment of a charity building in South London which caters for all walks of life including women groups, youth, interfaith, multicultural and ambassadors for peace, which empower people to get involved and make a difference in their local communities.

The show is for all ages and will have lots of audience participation, with one lucky person to be cut in half and animals appearing from thin air. At the end of the show a Free Bunny Copter will be available for every child as well as a chance to meet Snowy the white rabbit.

Tickets will be available on the day but please book early to avoid disappointment.

Crazy Kid's Entertainer Competition
