Legal advice

Information about the Lambeth Law Centre, which offers legal advice to Lambeth residents, and links to other useful organisations.

Lambeth Law Centre

The Lambeth Law Centre provides legal advice to people who live or work in the borough of Lambeth. TheĀ centre deals with cases involving or expected to involve court hearings and applications, or tribunal hearings.

For initial and general advice the centre would refer you to your local advice agency. Lambeth Law Centre cannot assist you if you live or work outside of Lambeth or want advice about other matters, but will refer you elsewhere for help.

Community Legal Advice

Community Legal Advice is an easy to use service that can help you deal with your legal problems. It provides free information, help and advice on a range of common issues. As well as using their website you can access free quality legal information and advice by calling 0845 345 4 345. You can also ask an advisor to call you by filling in their online form.

Low cost services

Some lawyers and other advisers provide cheaper legal advice and assistance to people who aren't eligible for legal aid but can't afford legal fees. For example, Citizens Advice Bureaux and Law Centres can often provide free legal help.

Mediation

In mediation, a neutral and independent third party helps people in dispute to reach a voluntary resolution agreed by both sides. The mediator does not make decisions or impose a settlement.

Further information on mediation is available on theĀ Legal Services Commision website.
