There are a number of groups and organisations, both local and national, that provide advice and support to different sections of the community.

General advice and assistance
Eaves is a London-based charity that provides high quality housing and support to vulnerable women. Eaves also carry out research, advocacy and campaigning to prevent all forms of violence against women.

Black and minority ethnic groups
Indoamerican Refugee and Migrant Organisation (IRMO)
A community organisation run by and for Latin American refugees, migrants and asylum-seekers living in London, IRMO provides free immigration and welfare advice.
It also aims to assist Latin Americans to successfully integrate with British society, gaining access to opportunities for education, employment and mainstream services, while maintaining their cultural identity.

Lambeth Carers provide Information on carers rights, advice on benefits and community care, run the fix yourself a break scheme and the Lambeth Carers Forum and produce a carers directory, newsletters and leaflets.
Lambeth Crossroads
Lambeth Crossroads give practical support to carers. It includes two projects:
Breaks for Carers
We send trained and experienced care attendants to carers' homes on a regular basis to care for ill or disabled adults or children so that the carer can have a break. Our care attendants provide companionship, light domestic work and personal care. They can also take the cared for person on outings from the home. The service is available 24 hours per day (including overnights) and every day of the week. There is a specialist palliative respite care service for carers of people with a terminal illness.
The service is free for people referred by social services or for the specialist palliative respite care service. Carers can also refer themselves and buy this service privately or using direct payments.
