Business rates: how to pay
You can pay your business rates online, in person, by phone, by post, by direct debit or at any bank.
There is a surcharge of 1.65% if you make a payment by credit card. There is no charge to use your debit card to make a payment.
From 21 August 2012 you can pay your Business Rates monthly charge by electronic Brixton Pounds (B£). For further information call 07840 497544 or email support@brixtonpound.org.
By Direct Debit
You can set up your Direct Debit online.
Or you can:
- complete the Direct Debit mandate enclosed with your bill and post it back
- download the Direct Debit mandate and complete it and post it back to us
- or call the Business Rates team on 020 8315 2255.
Online
If you run a business in the Lambeth area you can now pay your business rates online.
By phone
You can pay by phone using your credit card or debit card. Telephone our business rates helpline on 020 8315 2255 during office hours of 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.
Alternatively, you can call our 24-hour automated credit/debit card payment hotline 020 8290 2086. Remember to have your business rates account number ready when you call.
In person
You can pay in person at the cash office in:
Opening hours: 9am to 4.15pm Monday to Friday.
Remember to fill in the amount you are paying and remove the slip before approaching the cashiers. Please also check your receipt, which is printed on the back of your payment slip, before leaving the cashier.
At any bank
You can pay your business rates at any bank by cheque or cash. Some banks may charge for this if you are not one of their customers. If you are paying at a bank, remember to allow an extra seven days for your payment to reach us on time. You can also pay at any of the Pay Point outlets situated throughout the Borough.
By post
To the London Borough Lambeth Cashiers Service, PO Box 67060, 18 Brixton Hill, London, SW2 9HQ. Receipts are not given for payments made by cheque unless accompanied by a stamped, self-addressed envelope. If you are paying by post, remember to allow an extra seven days to make sure your payments reach us on time.
