Commercial Waste - Collection

Pay online now - link to commercial waste payments page If you have a business you have a duty of care to store, transport and safely dispose of the waste that you generate.

You may only dispose of your waste to a registered waste carrier or licensed waste disposal facility. Non domestic rates do not include the cost of waste collection or disposal.

Whether you use the services of the London Borough of Lambeth or another waste company you will need to pay for a waste service. You are also required, under statutory 'duty of care' provisions, to document what you do with your waste and keep any waste transfer notes you receive for the disposal of your waste. You have a legal duty to make these records available for inspection and these must be retained for two years.

We can offer you a variety of commercial waste contracts, including several types of container, and a collection frequency to suit your business requirements, all at competitive prices.

Waste and your duty of care

If you have a business you have a duty of care under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 to store, transport and safely dispose of the waste that you generate.

Download the waste and your duty of care document or the architects code of practice document for more information.

What you need to do

One of your obligations as a waste generator is to have a commercial waste contract with a licensed waste carrier, as failure to do so could result in Enforcement Action being taken against you.

We have had to prosecute numerous businesses within the borough, and have not yet lost a case. However, this is not our preferred course of action, we would much rather help you to dispose of your waste correctly.
