Tenders
Our contract opportunities are advertised here on our website, in local or national press, trade journals or in the supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU).
The tender process
There are a number of different procurement processes and the time frames for each will depend on how complex the procurement is.
If the contract is above the European Union (EU) thresholds then the EU regulations will apply and these set out the time frames for each stage in the process.
It is important for us to allow a reasonable amount of time for bidders to respond and for us to carry out our evaluations. Sometimes it can take several months for the process to be completed.
A summary of the procurement processes and when they are normally used is as follows:

We usually seek quotes from at least 3 suppliers on the Approved Supplier List. |

Council policy also requires that any major contracts over £100,000 should be advertised to supplement the Council's Approved Supplier List unless officers are sure that the database provides adequate and up to date coverage of the relevant market. |
