Transparency in procurement
In May 2010 Government set out the need for greater transparency across all public bodies to enable the public to hold public bodies and politicians to account. This includes commitments relating to public expenditure, intended to help achieve better value for money. At Lambeth we have always tried to be open and transparent with the spending on our contracts for supplies and services; this new development will mean that citizens and other interested people will be able to see what we are spending and who we are using to supply our services.
A spreadsheet describing all council spending decisions of £500 and over will be displayed on our website from Friday 28 January. View the spending decisions spreadsheet.
The spreadsheet will be published monthly and contain basic information about the total spending for the previous month with each supplier.
London Councils
London Councils is London's Improvement and Efficiency Partnership partner and is the London centre of excellence for procurement. It drives the delivery of significant efficiencies by helping authorities join up services and explore new commercial techniques, improving the management of London’s £9 billion supply chain of support services. London Councils also maintains a pan-London contract register that holds details of over 8,500 contracts which are uploaded and available for viewing. You can see details of contracts held by most of the Local Authorities in the Greater London Area on the London Councils website.
Lambeth standard contract documents
Lambeth maintains a suite of standard contract terms and conditions that are used for most of our contracts. View the five sets of terms and conditions that we use most.
The Procurement Annual Report
Each year, Lambeth corporate procurement produces an annual procurement report. The report covers Lambeth's corporate procurement activities for the past year, with submissions taken from the departmental procurement teams. These sections highlight departmental procurement board activity, tendering and projects. The report highlights key activities and achievements for the previous year and sets out the goals for procurement in the upcoming year, including a section on procurement key performance indicators and objectives for the coming year.

Procurement KPI Report for 2010-2011
To ensure effective performance management, local authorities are expected to establish key performance indicators (or KPIs) in order to monitor and review performance. To this end, every year Lambeth Corporate Procurement develops a Procurement KPI Report. This document is intended to support the objectives of the procurement performance framework and its role within a wider national procurement strategy. The KPI Report will allow for ongoing review of achievement against targets and effective performance management.
