Community groups, centres and facilities

We provide community customer service advice centres, as well as specialised centres that offer advice and support for people suffering from domestic violence.

Day care

Day care in community centres such as the Effra day centre or the Amardeep centre for people with mental health problems, or specialist centres for older people, people with disabilities or people with substance misuse issues can be provided following an assessment of your needs.

Community asset transfer policy

Following Cabinet agreement in October 2012, we have adopted a new and proactive asset transfer policy called 'Enabling Community Asset Ownership and Management', which seeks to support an increase in the community ownership and management of buildings within Lambeth.

Lambeth venues

A number of rooms and halls are available to hire in the council-owned Lambeth Town Hall, Brixton.

Neighbourhood clubs for older people

Neighbourhood clubs for older people are now available across the borough. These local services, called the Gateway network, are delivered by older people for older people, including the creation of 5,200 luncheon club places.

Voluntary organisations and support groups

There are a number of groups and organisations, both local and national, that provide advice and support to different sections of the community.
