Lambeth Community Safety Audit 2004
Lambeth outperformed all inner London boroughs on crime reduction, according to the Lambeth Community Safety Partnership's 2004 audit report on crime.
The audit on crime and the fear of crime - as required by the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 - also showed Lambeth was no longer rated as London's highest crime borough.
The report focused particularly on drugs, fear of crime, guns and gangs, and involved extensive review and consultation of approximately 130,000 residents and specific interviews with young people, businesses, community groups and a wide range of agencies.
