In this 2007 report, the Audit Commission has given Lambeth two out of three possible stars for its community safety services, praising their 'significant achievements in reducing crime' which are 'among the best in London'.
The borough has been awarded the second highest two-star 'good' rating, in a score system that ranges from zero stars to three stars.
The report says that, despite the challenging circumstances, the council and partners have a clear understanding of the crime and antisocial behaviour problems in the borough with 'promising' prospects for improvement.
