- Delivering services openly and fairly, and in ways which suit our customers
- Investing in a skilled, stable and diverse workforce
- Challenging discrimination in all its forms
Single Equality Scheme
The development and introduction of the our first Single Equality Scheme (SES) and supporting action plan is underway.
Single Equalities Scheme explained
The SES will build on, and take forward, the current separate schemes and action plans that address race, disability, gender, and lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender.
It will bring together the common elements of each of the existing statutory equality duties and will be extended include age, sexual orientation, and religion and belief into a consistent and coherent framework.
It will be used to drive our work to mainstream equality, diversity and the principles of human rights across the organisation by ensuring that we continue to promote and deliver equality as an integral part of who we are and what we do.
You can be involved by taking part in the Single Equality Scheme Survey.

Equalities impact assessments are a powerful tool, which can identify - and address - any potential for discrimination before new policies and services are introduced.
Investors in People (IiP) is a national quality standard which sets best practice for improving an organisation’s performance through its people. Lambeth achieved corporate IiP recognition in December 2004. Few other councils have achieved corporate recognition.
