Faith organisations in Lambeth

There are many faith groups, organisations and places of worship in Lambeth where many faiths are observed. We have subdivided these by religion in the pages listed below.

If you would like your details to be added to the council’s database of faith organisations and/or put on one of the pages listed below, please complete the faith groups in Lambeth form and email it to dmallotey@lambeth.gov.uk

Child protection in places of worship

Safeguarding children is everybody’s responsibility. Under the Children Acts 1989 and 2004 organisations that work with children have a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people. The Children Act 2004 defines anyone under the age of 19 as a child/young person. Lambeth Council is committed to promoting the well-being of children. It aims to create a safe and respectful environment for worship within which children and young people can thrive.

As good practice every place of worship should have a designated child protection officer who must undergo child protection training.

For more information about guidelines and child protection procedures please contact the Lambeth Safeguarding Children Board on 020 7926 4759 or try the website lambethscb.org.uk

Please make sure your organisation has a copy of these guidelines.
