Funding for faith communities

This page provides details of funding opportunities available to faith communities. You can also find out about other general funding opportunities.

Faiths in Action Fund

Organisations can apply for grants of up to £12,000 over two years between 2009 and 2011.

The Faiths in Action fund is being administered by the Community Development Foundation on behalf of the Department of Communities and Local Government. This fund is in conjunction with the launch of the government’s interfaith strategy on 21 July 2008 – 'Face to Face and Side by Side: A framework for partnership in our multi faith society'.

Applications will be considered only if organisations run projects that meet the fund's four priorities. The four areas are:

  • developing the confidence and skills to ‘bridge' and ‘link'
  • supporting shared spaces for interaction and social action
  • developing structures and processes that support dialogue and social action
  • improving opportunities for learning that build understanding

Applications must be submitted between 1 August and 1 November 2008. Forms are available at www.cdf.org.uk. Alternatively, email fundingadmin@cdf.org.uk or call 01223 400 341.
