Adults' and community services consultations
Consultations about adults' and community services.
Our idea is to have a number of buildings across Lambeth that local people own and run. In these spaces will be different groups such as small businesses or voluntary groups. The idea is that by sharing the space these groups can work together, share costs and develop new ideas.
The current contract for providing domiciliary and home care services is coming to an end, and we are planning to re-commission this service. As part of this process we are making changes to improve the service. We have started consulting with people to find out how well the current service is meeting their needs and what they think about the planned changes. People who receive home care services will still continue to receive those services in their home as usual.
In Lambeth, we have started a second phase of consultation on the use of discretionary freedom passes. This phase of consultation finishes on 16 January 2012. Please note that this consultation will not affect those who use the older people's freedom pass (these are the freedom passes issued to people who are 61 years and over).
We want to work with you to deliver a Library service for Lambeth that is really excellent.
Thank you to everyone who took part in this inital consultation process to tell us their views and comments about their priorities for culture in Lambeth.
Lambeth is developing an Older People's Housing Strategy, which describes how we will help people, as they grow older, to live well, independently, and in a way they choose.
We have developed proposals to generate up to £1.25 million each year from 2012/13 onwards. These proposals hinge upon delivering a small number of additional large events in Lambeth's parks and open spaces. This will require the removal of restrictions placed upon the use of parks and open spaces for events.

Earlier this year there was consultation with service users, providers and wider stakeholders. The outcome of the consultation, and the revised Equalities Impact Screening, are available here.
