Internal audit and counter fraud

Working with our external partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers, we are responsible for the delivery of internal audit and counter fraud services to the council.

As internal auditors

Working with PricewaterhouseCoopers we provide an independent and objective appraisal and assurance service on the adequacy of the Council's risk, control and governance processes. Also, we serve as a source of impartial advice and information and undertake consulting services.

Overall anti fraud

We undertake investigations of suspicions of fraudulent activity committed against the Council and recommend sanctions. Also, working in partnership with PricewaterhouseCoopers we supervise and co-ordinate all counter-fraud activities across the Council.

The Head of Internal Audit and Counter Fraud is responsible for the strategic management of the internal audit and counter fraud service, which are delivered by the external providers and two in-house teams.
