David AshmoreRevenue, Benefits and Customer Services (RBCS) provides high-quality, value-for-money services that ensures everyone has access to council services and that everyone entitled to benefit gets the right amount at the right time. RBCS is headed by David Ashmore, Divisional Director.

Our aim is to provide a customer-focused efficient and accessible service.

The role of the division is to:

  • assess and award housing benefit and council tax benefits to entitled claimants within Lambeth's diverse community, complying with all statutory regulations, case law, corporate and local policies
  • provide face-to-face environments where residents and others can access council services in one place
  • provide the main point of contact for all telephone and email enquiries
  • investigate stage 3 complaints, respond to subject access requests and provide the formal link to the Local Government Ombudsman
  • manage the council's central administrative buildings and ensure they are open and ready for use to enable council departments to deliver services.

Customer centres

OurĀ customer centres in Brixton and Streatham provide a face-to-face environment where residents and others can access council services in one place. Customer centres deal with face-to-face enquires about benefits, council tax, housing and parking.

The Lambeth Service Centre

The Lambeth Service Centre is the first point of contact by telephone and email for residents requiring access to services in the following areas:

  • Adult and Community Services
  • Children and Young People Services
  • Environment, Culture and Community Safety
  • Housing repairs, rents, leasehold and correspondence
  • Housing Options and Allocations
  • Homelessness
