Document summary

The Audit Commission Act 1998 requires all local authorities to collect and publish a range of performance indicators (PIs) on services they deliver.

These indicators must be reported to the Audit Commission, who publish national comparison tables. The Audit Commission will also use some of the audited performance indicators as one of the measures for the Authority’s Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA).
