Carnegie Library is in a residential area close to Denmark Hill and Herne Hill.

Clapham Library is in the Old Town, a short walk from the common and the shops.

Durning Library is in an impressive Victorian building in Kennington, close to the tube station.

The Minet Library is a small and attractive neighbourhood library in Knatchbull Road, near to Myatt's Fields park.

South Lambeth Library is between Stockwell and Kennington in the heart of Lambeth's Portuguese community.

How much does it cost to run Lambeth's libraries?
To run nine libraries in 2009/10 cost £7.3 million.

- Corporate recharges: £2,739,195 (37.49%)
- Premises: £636,577 (8.71%)
- Purchase of books, CDs etc: £449,417 (6.15%)
- Other supplies and services: £240,771 (3.30%)

- Computing: £94,558 (1.29 %)
- Transport: £9,665 (0.13%)

In addition libraries achieve the following income from fines, DVD hire and other items - £271,084.
The costs do not include the following:
- Mobile Library and outreach Service (with the exception of the courier service)
- Nettlefold Hall and Archives (with the exception of the premises costs)
- externally funded services such as the prison library.
How much money do we need to save?
The outcome of this review needs to save £750,000 by 2013/14.
