Lambeth statistics - datasets

Socio-demographic, economic and other data can be downloaded from this page.

1. Demographic Data

This dataset group contains information on:

Mid-year estimates

The Office for National Statistics produces annual population estimates. These are published each August a year in arrears. For Lambeth, the latest estimated population is for 2003 (268,500). The 2004 estimates are due for release in late August 2005.

  • Mid-year estimates

Population and household projections

Population and household projections for all boroughs are produced by the ONS and for London by the Greater London Authority (GLA). These indicate what population and household numbers would be for the next 20 years if current trends continue. The most recent (2003 based) set of both projections were released in 2004 and new data for both are scheduled for release in autumn 2005.

2. Economic

This dataset group contains information on:

  • Income, including GLA paycheque data and Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) benefits derived data.
  • Employment, including GLA Labour Force projections and Annual Business Inquiry.
  • Unemployment, based on claimant count.
  • Travel to work.

3. Health

For the present, our dataset holdings on health are limited to those on long term limiting illness (LLI) provided through the 2001 Census, and Teenage pregancies.  We hope to add more health related data when it is available.

  • Long-term limiting illness.
  • Teenage pregancy.

4. Other datasets

  • The 2004 Index of Multiple Deprivation was published by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister in 2004. They provide a comprehensive picture of deprivation experienced at the local level.
  • Education and learning.
  • Crime.
