BSF Primary and Community
The BSF Primary and Community team is responsible for the Primary Capital Programme and all other capital programmes which impact on primary schools, nursery schools, children’s centres, play areas and other young people’s community facilities across the borough. This work includes:
- maintaining and updating the directorate's Asset Management Plan within the CYPS Estate Master Plan
- advising on preventative maintenance and best practise
- advising on legislation and regulations for buildings and building work
- advising on selection of consultants and contractors
- development of the directorate's property portfolio
- planning and managing the CYPS Capital Programme (excluding secondary provision)
Both minor and major schemes of work are generated from the planning process and successful bidding for funds. The Primary and Community team's role is to manage CYPS responsibilities in relation to this work on behalf of the council.
The BSF Primary and Community Team's role also includes:
- providing support on the development of schemes
- monitoring progress
- liaison with designers and contractors
- making submissions and co-ordinating bids for funding
- monitoring budgets
