Primary Capital Programme - Strategy for Change 2009 to 2022
The "Primary Strategy for Change" document was submitted to the DCSF in June 2008 as part of the Primary Capital Programme (PCP) process, following lengthy consultation and approval by all stakeholders. Lambeth was one of only 31 authorities nationwide to receive unconditional approval to its proposals.
The PCP is the primary school equivalent of the secondary sector's Building Schools for the Future, and is intended to rebuild or refurbish 50% of primary schools over 15 years. Lambeth has been told by DCSF that it should plan to rebuild 20% of its schools and refurbish 30%.
Following approval of the submission the first tranche of the funding became available in April 2009.
