As a governor you make a real difference in helping your school provide the best possible education for all its pupils, whatever their background.

That’s true for a looked after child as much as any other. Some young people in care may need to be given more help, encouragement and support to access education, to turn up to school and to stay on into the sixth form and beyond. It is the responsibility of all of us who work with these young people to do all we can to make this a reality.
