Lambeth 14-16 Additional Learning Programmes
In order to provide a greater choice of learning opportunities at Key Stage 4, Lambeth Children's and Young People’s Services have put together a programme of courses that are available to 14-16 year-olds attending Lambeth schools.
Local further education colleges and learning providers in the area are offering programmes leading to recognised qualifications in:
- Construction
- Fashion and Textiles
- Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy
- Health and Social Care
- Horticulture
- Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair
These programmes offer an introduction to a career in the sector, develop relevant skills and provide a useful step to more advanced training in the subject.
You can read the KS4 Learning programmes for 2010/2011 brochure that every secondary school has received.
The young person’s school must agree to their taking part in the programme and will act as intermediary with the provider.
The programmes take place either at an FE college, a training provider's workshop or an employer’s premises. Lambeth has been working closely with Southwark in developing these programmes and so any teaching group may contain a mix of students from Lambeth and Southwark schools.
