Educational awards and benefits

We provide benefits and support for parents and pupils. Find out about the different grants and loans available.

Student loans from 7 February 2011

From 7 February 2011 we will no longer be processing applications for higher education student support for Lambeth residents.

Free school meals

Free school meals are available to children whose parents or guardians can prove that they meet certain standards.

School travel grants

Parents can apply to Lambeth Council for financial help with their child's travel costs if the child is resident in Lambeth.

Educational Grants unit

The Grants Unit works in partnership with voluntary organisations to deliver quality services that are effective, efficient and meet the needs of local communities. For more information contact the Education Grants Development Officer on 020 7926 9480.

Student bursary scheme

If you are aged between 16 and 19 years old and face financial hardship while you are in full-time education you may be eligible to receive a bursary. The bursary scheme comes into affect from September 2011 and replaces the education maintenance allowance (EMA).
