Secondary school admissions – September 2010 entry

Closing date for applications for Year 7 entry to secondary schools in 2010 has now passed (Friday 23 October 2009). This applies to children born between 1 September 1998 and 31 August 1999 or taught as a Year 6 child during the 2009/10 academic year.

For detailed instructions on the admissions process and Lambeth schools, please read the Secondary schools in Lambeth booklet (2010 entry). Please note that the appeals deadline for Lambeth Community and Voluntary Controlled schools has been amended, please see addendum.

Printed copies of this booklet are also available at all Lambeth libraries and the One Stop Shop, International House Canterbury Crescent, London SW9 7QE.

On National Offer Day, 1 March 2010, a letter will be posted to all 'on-time' applicants informing applicants which school, if any, has been offered. Letters will be sent to both online applicants and those who have completed paper applications. In addition to this, online applicants will also be able to view the result of their application online from 7am on 2 March 2010 on the eadmissions portal.

For further advice about the secondary transfer process and what to do about the outcome of your application for a secondary school place please see one of the following question and answer sheets:

If you have not made an application and your child is due to start secondary school in September 2010, you will still need to make an application using the Common Application Form. You will not be able to complete an online application after the closing date of 23 October 2009.

Any applications received after 23 October 2009 will be late and will not be processed until after 1 March 2010 when offers have been generated for on-time applications.

Lambeth residents can print a Secondary transfer 2010 Common Application Form or request a copy from Lambeth School Admissions Team by calling 020 7926 9503.

For children who live in a different borough, please use their home borough's Common Application Form.

Completed Lambeth Common Application Forms should be handed in to:
One Stop Shop,
Ground Floor, International House,
Canterbury Crescent,
London
SW9 7QE,
Or posted using the correct postage to:
Lambeth School Admissions Team,
CYPS ERAA Service,
4th Floor, International House,
Canterbury Crescent,
London
SW9 7QE.

Some schools require a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) in addition to the Common Application Form. The SIF asks for further details which assists schools in applying their admissions criteria. The SIFs for Lambeth schools can be obtained from the schools directly, or from the Information Documents section. For schools in other boroughs that require a SIF, please contact that school directly for a form or the school admissions team in the borough where the school is to obtain a copy. All completed SIFs have to be submitted to the school by 23 October 2009 (unless otherwise stated). Lambeth School SIFs can be downloaded from the relevant school on our admission arrangements page. For late applications, SIFs still need to be completed and returned to the school.

Any applications received after 23 October 2009 will be late and will not be processed until after 1 March 2010 when offers have been generated for 'on-time' applications.
