Newly qualified teachers in Lambeth schools
So you've been appointed to one of our schools and are just starting out on your induction or, maybe, you've already done one or two periods of induction somewhere else - either way, welcome to Lambeth!
For the purposes of these pages:
- a 'term' is a sixth of an academic year
- 'induction' is made up of three 'periods of induction'.

Supply teachers and induction in Lambeth
If you are a supply teacher who has not yet completed induction, and you have taken up a position in a school which will last for two terms or more (the length of a period of induction), you should be registered as an NQT within two weeks of the start of your induction in Lambeth.
If you are a supply teacher who has not yet completed induction, and you have been working at a school which has now offered you a position which will last for a further two terms or more, you should be registered as an NQT within two weeks of the start of your 'inductable' time in Lambeth.
We are unable to include any time served prior to registration.
If you are a supply teacher working in a short-term capacity (less than two terms) in a school, you cannot count this time towards your induction - this includes situations where a short-term booking becomes one where a period of induction may have been completed.
