Traveller education service

Lambeth recognises travellers as a collective of separate cultural groups who may be discriminated against, and whose lifestyle puts them at a disadvantage within the education system.

Lambeth Traveller Education service employs one full-time advisory teacher, one part-time teaching assistant and a full-time home/school liason officer. This team provides support to schools to meet the needs of traveller pupils.

The main aim of the service is to enable traveller pupils in Lambeth to gain equal access to their legal entitlement to education and to help schools raise their level of educational attainment.
