When to contact us
We want to know if you have:
- bought or been served food that was unfit to eat
- bought or been served food damaged by pests or containing items it shouldn't have
- bought or been offered food that was past its 'use-by' date
- been unhappy about the hygiene in a food shop or restaurant
- eaten out in Lambeth and been ill as a result
What we will do
We will investigate your complaint, offer advice or take action to prevent the same thing happening again.
Our services
- We inspect food businesses in the borough to check compliance with food safety legislation.
- We investigate consumer complaints of poor hygiene or other problems with food businesses.
- We investigate consumer complaints of unsatisfactory food or food that is unfit for human consumption.
- We provide advice for businesses and consumers on good food hygiene and complying with the legal standards for food safety.
Our service standards
- We aim to provide you with the best service possible in accordance with our service standards.
- We will respond to all consumer complaints about food safety within five working days.
- We will provide a written reply to all food safety complaints within ten working days explaining what we have done.
