Green Champions
We are helping to create better neighbourhoods by supporting Green Community Champions.
The Green Community Champions programme aims to recruit volunteers from across the borough who can help and inspire their neighbourhoods to be more environmentally sustainable.
How we can help
We can support you by providing advice on how to help you and your neighbourhood:
- save energy
- cut your water, gas and electricity bills
- reduce waste
- grow your own food
- use green travel
- measure your carbon footprint.
We can also provide you with:
- regular newsletters providing updates on environmental projects happening across Lambeth
- key contacts for networks of existing environmental projects happening in your area and across Lambeth
- help organising events
- support with fundraising bids and help accessing specialist resources.
Free workshops
We are offering a series of free Lambeth Green and Sustainable Communities workshops and other activities between October 2011 and March 2012, to help you:
- Find out how to save money and cut your energy bills
- Make your home more cosy for the winter
- Learn how to make new things from old, and make your own jams and preserves
- Grow your own food
- Become a Green Community Champion.
Free materials are included. To find out more contact Sue Sheehan on 020 7926 7672 or greenchampion@lambeth.gov.uk, visit our pages on Project Dirt or Facebook, or follow us on Twitter @GreenCChampion.
