Parks and green spaces
We are responsible for the upkeep and development of over 60 parks and green spaces.
We also help organise events, manage two allotment sites, look after children's play areas and more besides.
Paddling pools and water features in parks - update 30 September 2011
Please accept our apologies for paddling pools, wet play and other water features being unavailable in parks during the recent unseasonally warm weather. Unfortunately it is normal practice to deactivate these features and turn off the water supply in mid September each year.
Deactivating a paddling pool involves not just turning off a water stopcock but also complete removal of pumps to protect them from frost and damage. Even if we could replace pumps it is not possible to just turn the water back at a moment's notice; we need time to undertake Legionella testing and reinstate contracts for cleaning and vacuuming each facility to make the safe. However, all other facilities in parks are open and we hope you will still find plenty to do to enjoy the hot weather in Lambeth's parks.
