Adventure playgrounds
There's no charge to use our adventure playgrounds, which offer all five to 16 year olds a special meeting point and a wide variety of activities and experiences.
They can keep busy with anything from arts and crafts, or indoor and outdoor games, to sports, cookery and computer courses. There's a big emphasis on outdoor play, with gardening and the chance to build and make things.
There are 15 adventure playgrounds in Lambeth: eight are managed by voluntary management committees, which we provide grant aid to, and the seven others are directly managed by us.
- The Charlie Chaplin adventure playground in Kennington Park caters specifically for children with disabilities.
- If your children would like to use the adventure playgrounds, they can just turn up - staff are on hand to help ensure their safety and prevent bullying.
- Parents and carers are welcome. Childcare groups and play schemes are also welcome, but must phone to book first to avoid overcrowding.
