Local Nature Reserves (LNRs)
Lambeth has a number of areas which are important for wildlife, and for local people to learn about and enjoy the environment.
Many of these sites are within our existing parks and green spaces, but some are specifically designated and managed for the benefit of nature conservation.
There are currently four proposed LNRs in Lambeth:
These four sites are proposed for LNR status because of their value for wildlife conservation and biodiversity, as well as being close to communities with a genuine need for access to natural open space.
In the future there will be other sites of equal wildlife and community value, especially in the centre and north of the borough.
