Parks and green spaces - general information
Our Parks and Green Spaces team is responsible for the upkeep and development of over 60 parks and green spaces in Lambeth, including facilities for outdoor sports.
Reporting problems
If you notice something that needs repairing in any of the parks, help us to get the work done faster by contacting us on 020 7926 9000 or email parks@lambeth.gov.uk.
If you witness an unpleasant or criminal incident in any park or open space please report it to the police. When you've done that, to help us combat crime and make our parks and green spaces safer for the whole community, please let us know too by contacting us on the details above.
Enjoying our parks and green spaces
Whether you're walking your dog in a park or spending a day in the sunshine, please be considerate:
- Don't let your dog foul the ground - pick it up, bag it and place it in the bins provided
- Keep your dog on a lead in areas where the signs ask you to do this; don't allow your dog into any area where they shouldn't be, e.g. a playground
- Respect other park users for example by not playing football in a busy park on areas not designated or marked out for ball games
- Children should be accompanied and watched at all times by their parents or guardians.
Fishing
Fishing is only allowed on Clapham Common and is not presently permitted in any other park, common or open space in Lambeth.
The two fishing ponds on Clapham Common, Eagle and Mount Ponds, are managed for coarse fish such as carp and roach.
For more information on the Clapham Common ponds or fishing them, please contact Lambeth Council on 020 7926 9000 or by email parks@lambeth.gov.uk.
War memorials
There are three war memorials in our parks or open spaces: Kennington War Memorial, Stockwell War Memorial and Streatham War Memorial.
All of these are kept clean and visible and can be visited all year round by those who wish to pay their respects.
