Future Clapham
The Clapham One scheme, which will bring a new library, leisure centre and homes to the heart of Clapham, continues to excite industry experts and has won two more top awards. The latest commendation for the project came at the UK Property Awards 2011, where Clapham One won outright in the ‘best mixed use development’ category and was highly-commended in the ‘best public services development’ category.
The scheme, which is an innovative public, private partnership between Lambeth and Cathedral Group has already proved its award wining credentials, having won the top prize in the Daily Telegraph’s British Homes Award 2011 in the ‘Housing Project of the Year’ category. The scheme is now accumulating quite an award collection as it also racked up an award at the Housing Design Awards in 2010.
Clapham Leisure Centre now open
The new Clapham Leisure Centre is now open. As well as the leisure centre, the multi-award winning Clapham regeneration project will see a library, healthcare centre, a café, and 199 homes (44 of which have been earmarked as affordable housing) built in the heart of Clapham.
The Mary Seacole Centre on Clapham High Street (including library and healthcare centre) is due to open in April 2012.

Community facilities for Clapham
The development includes a community library, healthcare centre and community leisure centre. All of these new public facilities have been designed with the local community in mind. They will be more accessible, of higher quality and provide for a wider range of services for residents to enjoy.
The two key sites will be redeveloped as follows:
- Mary Seacole House on Clapham High Street will be rebuilt to provide a new community library, healthcare centre and new homes
- The existing leisure centre and depot site on Clapham Manor Street will be redeveloped to create a new leisure centre.

Thank you to everyone who attended workshops, commented on proposals and got involved in consultation during the early stages and throughout the Future Clapham project.
There have been a number of ways that local people have had their say. You can find out what happened and how people got involved on the Your Future Clapham pages.
