Future Norwood
West Norwood is a town centre in the south of Lambeth known for its beautiful Victorian cemetery and its historic church. A masterplan has been developed for Norwood in consultation with local residents, businesses and organisations. It will act as a guide for future opportunities and development in the local area.
Norwood Hall is currently an underused building on Knight's Hill in West Norwood but plans are in place to regenerate the entire Norwood Hall site. Find out more about the plans for this site on our Norwood Hall page.
The masterplan covers almost everything that happens in West Norwood from leisure, health and transport to commercial activities and the arts. So, if you live or work in Norwood, or come as a visitor, it’s bound to affect you.
The masterplan seeks to make sure that Norwood makes the most of what it has to offer so that it can make sure change happens for the better. It also seeks to protect the things you like about Norwood.
Extensive consultation took place throughout 2008 and the beginning of 2009 with local people to develop the masterplan.
Thank you to everyone who has sent emails, attended workshops, commented on proposals and got involved to date. All comments have fed into and helped form the masterplan. The masterplan was approved by the council’s Cabinet in July 2009.
