Bulky waste collections
If you want to dispose of large items such as fridges, freezers and mattresses we offer a chargeable bulky waste collection service.
We charge for the bulky waste service so it is fairer. Instead of charging all council tax payers, including those on estates where in many cases bulky collections are already paid for in residents' service charges, only people that use the service pay for it.
Cost
To use our bulky waste service it costs:
- £20 each time you use the service for up to four separate items or four bags
- an additional £5 for each extra item collected.
Book and pay for a collection
When you order a bulky waste collection from us we will let you know what date your waste will be collected.
About our collection service
All your bulky waste items, including metal items and fridges will be collected on the same day.
Booking a collection with the London Reuse Network
Lambeth are working in partnership with Western Riverside Waste Authority and London Reuse Network to provide an innovative new reuse collection service to give unwanted furniture and household items a new lease of life.
The service, which collects furniture and large electricals in a good repairable condition, also provides training for local young people aged 16-25 on long-term job seekers allowance.
Collections will be made within three to four days of booking and evening collections are available one day a week. Collections can be made from flats if there is a working lift large enough to accomodate the item being collected.
Items will be collected from inside of your property to prevent damage the weather. All London Reuse Network operatives will carry ID and will arrived in liveried vans.
The charges are the same as the Lambeth bulky waste service and the following items are collected free of charge with every paid booking:
- Textiles and clothing
- Children's toys
- Bicycles
- Books
- Small electricals
- Bric a brac
To book your collection call the reuse hotline 020 3142 8506 or visit the London Reuse Network website.
Booking a bulky waste collection with an alternative waste company
You can use any registered waste carrier to get rid of your bulky waste. If you use a company or individual, make sure you ask to see proof of their registration as a waste carrier or check their waste carrier registration online.
You have a legal duty of care to make sure that your waste is disposed of properly. You might be prosecuted if your waste is later flytipped and the company you employed is not a registered waste carrier.
Bring your bulky waste to a recycling or waste centre
